Xbox Game Pass Adds EA Play without Additional Cost

EA Play, EA’s games subscription service, originally known as EA Access or Origin Access, is joining Xbox Game Pass for free.

In addition to the pricing reveal and launch date for Xbox Series X, Microsoft announced that EA Play will be included without additional cost with both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC. That means Ultimate members are now allowed to use Xbox Series X and S, EA Play on Xbox One, and Windows 10, while Xbox Game Pass for PC members get access to EA Play on Windows 10. The addition will be available in holiday 2020.

This will make Microsoft’s subscription become a better deal than before with EA’s biggest franchises, including FIFA, Need for Speed, Titanfall, The Sims, Skate, Battlefield, Madden NFL, and Mass Effect, available on Xbox Game Pass in several months.

Users paying for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be allowed to get access to EA games on their Android devices through Xbox Game Streaming, which will be available on September 15 in select markets.

An EA Play subscription also offers some other benefits. It’s not the same as an EA Play Pro subscription that consists of unlimited access to choose new EA titles. With EA Play, new launches take around at least one year to show up.

EA has made a lot of effort to develop its subscription service by expanding access to it. EA Play is available on PC via PS4, Origin, and Xbox One, too.

Microsoft gaming partnerships and ecosystem CVP Sarah Bond said that since they launched Xbox Game Pass, it has created amazing experiences for users. It amplifies the power of gaming – to bring fun and enjoyment to a day, unlock discovery of new adventures, and make it possible to connect every one even from afar.

Xbox Game Pass now has more than 10 million members from all countries around the world and EA Play also reached five million members in October last year.
